Merridale Ciderworks will celebrate Father’s Day on June 18. This will also mark the start of Sunday Pizza Nights, to be held throughout the summer. You can make a reservation here.
This will be a busy summer with events organized as part of the Canada 150 festivities. The theme will be a celebration of the senses and the promotion of local “terroir” products in British Columbia. A variety of tastings and workshops will be offered featuring B.C. food and drink. The first event took place at Townsite Brewing on the occasion of its launch as an Économusée® on May 4. The second event will be held at Wayward Distillation House, in Courtenay, on Friday, June 23. The teams are expanding:
- Hazelwood Herb Farm recently hired someone for the summer thanks to the Young Canada Works program.
- Hazelwood Herb Farm is also one of the businesses participating in the “Hands On! Generation to Generation” program. The SDE is supporting the training of its new employee.
- Wayward Distillation House also recruited an additional person for its team at the beginning of the month.
- For its part, Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm is looking to hire a seasonal employee. The job description can be found here.
